If your party lands in a Chicago Park District site or a Cook or DuPage County forest preserve, those venues typically require us to be named on a COI, and there is a flat $45 fee to issue that venue-specific certificate. Permits are separate from insurance: a closed-street block party usually needs a street-closure permit from your village or the City, and park reservations come from the local park district. Start those applications two to four weeks out, since approval timelines vary widely from one Chicagoland municipality to the next.
